Exterior lighting can use up a lot of energy. However, some of the benefits can make these features worth it.

Exterior designers should consider safety when implementing lighting into their designs. While lighting can improve safety by providing visibility and preventing falls and other injuries, exterior lighting can also cause injuries by creating glare and inhibiting visibility.
